Font Pairing Project:

Date: 11/1/16

What does it mean to create a font pairing?

To create a font pairing you must choose fonts and colors that go well together and position them in a way that you feel will appeal to others.

What are the four assignments you chose to do? Write the name of the assignment and describe your design for each.

The four assignments I chose were: Assignments 3, 4, 5 and 7. In assignment 3, there are two different fonts to show emphasis. It portrays a tropical feel for “Playa del Carmen, Mexico.” In assignment 4, my background image has a vintage effect. There is stress in the word “good’ in the “these are the good ol’days,” phrase. In assignment 5, my fonts go well together, I box “the other side,” to demonstrate importance. The background image generates a mysterious sense. In assignment 7, two fonts are used and shifted in a way of a rollercoaster. The background is an image of a rollercoaster.

Which assignment would you say is your BEST font pairing and why?

My best assignment is number five. This is because the two fonts I choose go well together and I boxed “the other side” to show importance. The image background is ghostly and portrays a spooky mood.

Which assignment would you say is your Least Successful font pairing and why?

Assignment 7 is my least successful font pairing. It’s simple. “Life is a rollercoaster,” scattered with a rollercoaster as a background.

How would you describe the font pairing process? What makes a font pairing so difficult?

The font pairing process is more challenging than I had thought. What makes font pairing so difficult is trying to find two fonts that actually look good together. This is because most of the fonts do not match, so they clash.
